Kings Island and Cedar Point opening for the season

MASON, OH (AP) – A sure sign that spring has arrived is opening day at Ohio’s two major amusement parks.

Cedar Point and Kings Island open for daily operation for the season at 10am Friday.

Cedar Point, in Sandusky, and Kings Island near Cincinnati are nationally known for their roller coasters and other attractions. The parks are both owned by Cedar Fair.

The 2016 season at Cedar Point marks the opening of Valravn, a brand new dive-coaster featuring a 90 degree first drop.

The water parks at both attractions open for the summer on May 28.
