DUBLIN, OH (WCMH) — The new roundabout at the intersection of Riverside Drive and State Route 161 has been the site of more than 20 crashes since opening a little more than a month ago.
According to Dublin police, between August 13 and September 16, 24 crashes were reported in the roundabout.
Dublin police announced on September 13 that ‘the learning curve is over’ and they will be doing targeted enforcement in the roundabout along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol due to the number of crashes.
The city wants drivers to remember that the area is still an active construction site with lane restrictions and the southbound Riverside Drive bypass still closed. The bypass is expected to reopen in November.
Dublin officials have resorted to memes to try and spread the word about how to navigate the roundabout and that drivers should yield to all traffic inside the roundabout.
