NEW YORK (NBC News) — In the first joint candidate event of the 2016 general election, presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will take questions on national security, military affairs and veterans’ issues.

NBC News’ Matt Lauer moderates the NBC News-Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans event at New York’s Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

The presidential candidates will appear at separate times and will not face each other on stage.

This one-hour stream will be live for the 8pm simulcast on Sept. 7, 2016.
