DELAWARE, Ohio (WCMH) — One person was killed Friday morning in an industrial accident at Liberty Casting.
Delaware County Police say medics were called to the foundry around 8:52 a.m. on a reported industrial accident.
According to the Delaware County emergency communications incident sheet, the man died after he was crushed in foundry equipment in the back northeast side of the plant. Once they were able to remove the equipment from the victim, he was not breathing.
The incident reports lists the victim’s place of residence as Baltimore, Ohio. His identity has not been released, as officials are still trying to locate and notify next of kin of his death.
OSHA was called to investigate the incident, according to the incident report.
In August 2018, five workers were injured in an explosion at the iron foundry.
