Police say a man who threatened patrons at an after-hours club in northeast Columbus is in critical condition after a police-involved shooting. 

It happened just before 5:30am at an after-hours club on the 900 block of East 5th Avenue. According to Lt. Elrico Alli with the Columbus Division of Police, an armed man entered the club and began threatening to shoot people. 

Lt. Alli said two officers responded to the scene and confronted the suspect and that’s when the shooting happened. 

The man was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. He is currently in surgery and is expected to survive his injuries. No officers were injured in the incident.
