LEWIS CENTER, OH (WCMH)– Several Olentangy schools were placed on lock down while deputies in Delaware County searched for a bank robbery suspect, Thursday.

Oak Creek Elementary, Glen Oak Elementary, Orange Middle, Orange High School, OHS Academy, Shanahan Middle, Arrowhead Elementary, Heritage Elementary, and Central Office were all locked down after deputies responded to the 1100 block of East Powell Road on the report of a bank robbery.

The Olentangy School District says students were released at the normally scheduled time.

According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, at about 11am today, a man robbed the First Merit Bank and ran from the area.

Deputies say the suspect was a black male, in his 20s, about 200 pounds, and was wearing a gray or green button-up shirt and blue jeans.
