A Columbus Board of Education member has resigned following allegations of sexual harassment from his coworkers at the Ohio Statehouse, where he also worked as a legislative aide.

According to Columbus City Schools, Dominic Paretti resigned his position Friday after having resigned as a legislative aide for Rep. Janine Boyd, a Democrat representing northeast Ohio. Both resignations came after two of Paretti’s coworkers at the Statehouse reported that Paretti sexually harassed them.

Documents obtained by NBC4 from the Statehouse legal counsel reveal include sexually explicit text messages allegedly sent by Paretti to two coworkers, trying to convince them to have sex with him. Paretti’s resignation letter to Speaker of the House Ryan Smith did not mention the allegations of sexual harassment.

Paretti was a member of the CCS Board of Education since 2013 and worked at the Statehouse since 2008.

Columbus Board of Education President Gary L. Baker II issued the following statement regarding Paretti’s resignation:

“Earlier this afternoon, Columbus Board of Education member Dominic Paretti submitted his resignation from his elected position, effectively [sic] immediately. No reason was specified in his letter of resignation, and there are no indications of any concerns related to his service in the District. Ohio Revised Code (ORC 3313.11) explains the process of replacing an elected member of a board of education. My colleagues and I will begin that process in a timely manner.”
