COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – From a handful of festivals, to several sporting events and markets, here are things to see and do this weekend in central Ohio.
COSI Science Festival
All around central Ohio and COSI, through May 3
- Enjoy several days full of science and fun through community STEAM events across central Ohio, leading up to the big science celebration on May 3 outside of COSI.
Cinema Columbus Film Festival
Happening now through May 4
- The Cinema Columbus Film Festival will showcase a lineup of films, with screenings taking place through May 4. Marking the event’s fourth year, the festival will present more than 20 screenings involving 50 feature and short films at seven locations.
Major League Pickleball
Pickle and Chill, 880 W. Henderson Rd., May 1-4
- Major League Pickleball (MLP) is coming to Columbus for its regular season. Experience fast-paced action as the world’s top professional coed pickleball teams compete. A lineup of MLP’s 22 teams will face off in pivotal matches, earning standings points on their journey towards a spot in the MLP Playoffs in August.
Clippers vs. St. Paul
Huntington Park, May 1-4
- The Columbus Clippers face the St. Paul Saints in a series of home games at Huntington Park.
Vintage Market Days
Hartford Fairgrounds, 14028 Fairgrounds Rd. in Hartford, May 2-4
- Walk through a selection of vintage art, antiques, clothing, jewelry and more at the indoor/outdoor market. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are still available.
Walk to Cure Arthritis
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, May 3 at 8 a.m.
- The Arthritis Foundation is holding its annual flagship fundraising event, Walk to Cure Arthritis. Money raised through donations will support the foundation’s ability to fund scientific research and continue to provide services and resources to the arthritis community in Columbus.
Walk in Our Boots 5K
Gahanna Veterans Memorial Park, May 3 at 9 a.m.
- The Gahanna American Legion Post 797 is proud to present the third annual 5K event, which is a community-driven walk that’s dedicated to supporting homeless veterans in the Columbus area. Registration is still open.
Star Wars event at the Columbus Metropolitan Library
Main Library at 96 S. Grant Ave., May 3
- Main Library will be transformed into the Star Wars universe. Guests will meet a variety of characters from another galaxy for pictures, build their own lightsaber, trivia and more. The event will also hold a food drive for the Mid-Ohio Food Collective.
2025 Ohioana Book Festival
The State Library of Ohio, 274 E. 1st Ave., May 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Come join your favorite Ohio authors and illustrators for book signings, panel discussions, author Q&As, children’s book readings, Character Mascot photo opportunities and much more.
Central Ohio Folk Festival
9466 N. High St., May 3-4
- Bringing in more than 11,000 participants over two days, the annual festival returns for the 28th year, offering a variety of activities and live entertainment. There will be 35 performances on three stages, a petting zoo, open jam tents and much more. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
Crew vs. Charlotte FC

- The Columbus Crew take on Charlotte FC in a home matchup.
Franklin Park Conservatory Community Day
1777 E. Broad St., May 4
- On the first Sunday of every month, residents of Columbus and Franklin County receive free general admission with proper identification. The Community Days include access to the entirety of the gardens, collections and current daytime exhibitions.
