COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Cincinnati distillery boasted as “a leader in Ohio craft spirits” is expanding with a storefront in the Columbus area.

Cincinnati Distilling is opening a second standalone bottle shop this spring at Polaris Fashion Place, on the mall’s main level next to the Oakley store. The brand said the new Columbus shop will mark the second in a series of standalone “outpost” locations opening in 2025, “underscoring Cincinnati Distilling’s commitment to making its full portfolio of spirits more accessible.”

“Our new bottle shops allow us to connect directly with people who are passionate about craft spirits, curious about what we do or just need a fun and affordable gift for a friend or loved one,” Josh Engel, the brand’s marketing manager, said in a release. “By opening standalone locations in big markets like Columbus, we not only expand our reach but also create a space where customers can actually sample our full catalog.”

The announcement of another standalone shop comes after Cincinnati Distilling opened its first last fall in Kenwood Towne Center at 7875 Montgomery Road. The brand also welcomes patrons to its distillery at 203 Mill St. in Milford, which is home to a tavern, rooftop bar, and event center.

Founded in 2017, Cincinnati Distilling offers a series of bourbons, flavored whiskeys, vodkas, rums and more. The brand is owned by March First, a spirits company that owns and operates several Ohio brewing divisions, like FigLeaf Brewing in Middletown and Woodburn Brewing in Cincinnati.

“March First Brands has a tradition of aggressive growth and portfolio expansion and our loyal customers have come to expect this from us,” said Engel, noting that Cincinnati Distilling is exploring opportunities to acquire other craft spirits brands.
