Eight people in Ohio split scratch-off millions

BRUNSWICK, Ohio (WCMH) — In a show of solidarity, eight people are dividing the top prize on an Ohio Lottery scratch-off ticket.

According to a news release from the Ohio Lottery, the $300,000,000 Extreme Cash scratch-off was purchased at Cenco, located at 3769 Center Road in Brunswick near Cleveland.

The game is one of six $30 scratch-offs the lottery commission offers. The lineup also includes $2,000,000 Cashword, Extreme Millions, Holiday Bonus Millions, Money Maker and Monopoly 200X.

The $300,000,000 Extreme Cash ticket has a top prize of $200,000 for 25 years, or $5 million. Since the group chose the cash option of $2.5 million, each person will take home roughly $225,000, after taxes.

Currently, six top prizes remain in the game. The Lottery notes on its website that the odds of winning are one in 3.40.
