COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The victims of a fatal plane crash in southwest Florida on Friday afternoon that took off from Ohio State University Airport have been identified.

Five people were onboard a Bombardier Challenger 600 operated by HopAJet that took off at 1:02 p.m. Friday from Ohio State University Airport. The plane crashed at about 3:15 p.m. near Naples in Collier County, collided with a car on Interstate 75 and caught fire. The jet was scheduled to return to Fort Lauderdale after landing at Naples.

On Saturday afternoon, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said that the pilot, 50-year-old Edward Murphy from Oakland Park, Fla., and co-pilot Ian Hofmann, a 65-year-old from Pompano Beach, Fla., were both killed in the crash.

Two passengers, 35-year-old Aaron Baker and 23-year-old Audra Green, both from Columbus, were taken to a local hospital for treatment, along with the third crew member, 23-year-old Sydney Ann Bosmans, of Jupiter, Fla. The sheriff’s office did not provide an update on their conditions.

AirNav RadarBox flight tracking shows the path the jet took before the crash. As it approached Naples Airport flying east, the pilot veered slightly north before curving back south over Interstate 75.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
