HILLIARD, Ohio (WCMH) – Part of Hilliard’s newest recreation and wellness center that’s been undergoing construction is opening to the public.
The Hilliard Athletic Complex, part of the city’s newest recreation and wellness campus, is holding a grand opening Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the turf fields. According to the city, the complex has been open to athletic events for the past couple of weeks but will officially open the area while marking the progress being made with the construction of the campus. The new complex includes two turf fields, 20 natural grass fields, and more than three miles of paths around the entire wellness center.
The opening comes as the city continues construction on The Well, Hilliard’s recreation and wellness center at Scioto Darby and Alton Darby Creek roads. The facility is 105,000 square feet and will be home to several fitness amenities including an indoor track, gymnasium, weight room, lap pool and more.
Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center will also be part of the new center with a health clinic, bringing community health services to the future recreation and wellness campus.
As of now, The Well is expected to open fully in the fall. Membership for the recreation and wellness campus are now on sale.
