COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Pride Month each June celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and remembers the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, a series of conflicts between police and LGBTQ+ protesters that stretched over six days.
Today, Pride commemorates the Stonewall movement with parades, festivals, memorials and more. Find a Pride celebration near you below.
Boardman Arts Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 7
- The event is free and open to all ages, with more than 80 vendors participating. The festival features an array of entertainment options, including performances, drag shows, and children’s activities such as crafts, games, story times, face painting, appearances by Nate the Magician, and more.
Station Park from noon to 3 p.m. on June 7
- Listen to music by local band Session5, learn about central Ohio LGBTQ+ organizations, and support local Hilliard businesses while the kids cool off in the splash pad or chalk up the sidewalk. T-shirts are available for purchase and all proceeds support Rainbow Hilliard, the sponsor of Hilliard Pride and other LGBTQ+ Hilliard events.
Parking lot in front of Birdie Books from 5 to 8 p.m. on June 7
- The Westerville Queer Collective’s 5th annual Pride fest includes food trucks, local businesses, artists and crafters.
Amelito Mirolo Barn from 4 to 7 p.m. on June 8
- Rainbow UA is hosting Upper Arlington’s 5th annual Pride with live music by Gas Station Baby and Session Five, vendors, community resources and more.
- The organization is also holding a Bears and Brews Happy House at The Daily Growler from 3 to 7 p.m. on June 18, and a family picnic at Fancyburg Park Shelter House from 1 to 4 p.m. on June 29.
Stonewall Columbus Pride Festival and March
Downtown Columbus and Goodale Park from 4 to 10 p.m. on June 13 and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 14
- The Pride festival includes food, more than 200 vendors, nonprofit organizations, community resources, and live entertainment. The celebration continues on Saturday with the march at Broad and High streets.
Partners Park from 3 to 9 p.m. on June 14
- The festival includes drag shows, food trucks, vendors and more.
Town Center Park from 1 to 5 p.m. on June 21
- Pride in Grove City is moving its annual festival from the fall to June, with live entertainment from the Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus, Session Five. DJ Industrial Badger and Amanda Sue.
Headley Park from 5 to 8 p.m. on June 26
- Gahanna Pride features vendors, food trucks, drag shows, a special guest DJ, face painting, a bounce house and more.
Sunbury Square from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 28
- Sunbury’s second annual Pride festival includes music, food, drinks, stories, rallying, booths and more. Organizers are asking attendees to notify them through Facebook ahead of time to get an estimate of the number of festivalgoers.
Denison University front lawn from 4 to 8 p.m. on June 28
- Born from a 2021 Village Council resolution denouncing discrimination against sexual orientation, Granville Pride’s first event featured more than 700 marching in celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and has expanded to a festival with vendors, organizations, live entertainment and more.
Huber Park from 4 to 8 p.m. on June 28
- Reynoldsburg Pride features music, food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, community groups, and a pet parade.
