COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A man is dead after a tractor trailer overturned while exiting from one interstate to another just south of Columbus Wednesday night.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash at 8:15 p.m. when a white 2023 white tractor trailer fell on its side as it was exiting from Interstate 270 West to Interstate 71 South in Jackson Township.
The FCSO report stated that when the truck reached the top of the exit ramp, it veered off the left side of the road and rolled onto the driver’s side. Medics from Jackson Fire responded to the scene and pronounced the driver dead at 8:29 p.m.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and no other injuries were reported. The name of the driver has not yet been released and authorities have not stated how the crash occurred.
The exit ramp from I-270 West to I-71 South remained closed for over nine hours until approximately 5:40 a.m. Thursday while crews continued the cleanup effort.
