WESTERVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) — A ramen restaurant with a location in the Short North Arts District has expanded with a second central Ohio eatery.

Ampersand Asian Supper Club is now welcoming customers to a new restaurant in Westerville’s Uptown, the eatery announced on social media. The eatery at 32 W. College Ave. occupies the ground floor of a new building, west of Graeter’s Ice Cream and across from the main City Hall parking lot.

The restaurant is owned and operated by Megan Ada with her husband and culinary director Joshua Cook, who spent more than a year mastering the menu. The pair previously said they’ve brought reinventions and inspirations on classic Asian dishes to the new location, including ramen, miso, rice bowls and more.

“My dad’s side of the family is from Guam where we lived for a few years when I was younger. Guam has a large Japanese influence so I ate a lot of ramen,” Ada said. “When we had the opportunity to open a restaurant in the Short North, my husband said we should do ramen. He worked on the menu for over a year before we opened and he has mastered it.”

The new location will mark the Ampersand concept’s second restaurant after the first opened in 2019 at 940 N. High St. in the Short North. Ada, a veteran chef, also purchased Westerville’s Sunny Street Café at 644 N. State St. in 2010 and then opened Asterisk Supper Club at 14 N. State St. in 2016.

Ada said that Ampersand is different from Asterisk in both menu and ambiance. Ampersand weaves Asian inspiration and flare through food alongside the modern atmosphere and décor, she said.

“I’m most excited for the Westerville community to try how delicious our food is,” Ada said. “I’ve told so many people about it in Westerville who don’t go to the Short North very often, so now everyone can try it since we’re a lot closer.”

The Westerville Ampersand is open 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
