COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Fat Patty’s, a West Virginia-based burger joint, is eyeing an expansion into Ohio.

Known for serving up specialty burgers and “munchies,” Fat Patty’s announced last week it is looking for franchise partners to expand into Ohio for the first time. The eatery is planning to open 10 locations over the next two years in key Ohio cities like Columbus, Cincinnati, Twinsburg, Akron, Canton, with additional areas bordering the Ohio River.

“We’re thrilled to find passionate franchisees to partner with as we look to bring our unique menu and welcoming atmosphere to communities throughout the Buckeye state,” said Sean Oatney, Fat Patty’s chief development officer. “The reception we’ve received from our current locations has been tremendous, and we’re confident that our flavorful menu and community centric environment will resonate with cities across Ohio.”

Founded in 2007 and franchising since 2022, Fat Patty’s has five locations open and operating in Kentucky and West Virginia, with one in development in Toms River, New Jersey. The brand said it is dedicated to becoming “a second home and welcoming neighborhood spot” where customers can catch a game or hang out in “The Yard” playing games with friends and family.

Each location is home to classic and specialty burgers, like the Fiesta Patty with elote Mexican street corn queso, or the Sweet Popper Patty with cream cheese, sautéed jalapenos and raspberry sauce. Munchies include bacon cheddar fries, southwest egg rolls, fried pickles, mac and cheese bites, and fried green tomatoes.

A selection of sandwiches, pizzas, salads, wings, desserts, and series of sides round out the menu’s offerings.
