COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The world’s largest rubber duck is making a splash this weekend in Ohio.
Affectionately known as Mama Duck, the inflatable duck standing more than six stories tall is waddling into the Buckeye State for the Hartville Jeep Fest from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at 1289 Edison St. Northwest.
Mama Duck measures 61 feet high, 64 feet wide and 74 feet long, and first made her debut in 2014 to an audience of more than 250,000 in Los Angeles. Since then, she has appeared across the globe, making stops in New York, Chicago, Toronto and more to pose with adoring fans.
“The world’s largest rubber duck’s mission is to spread happiness and love wherever she goes, and a gentle reminder to enjoy our outdoor spaces wisely, preserving them for many generations to come,” Mama Duck’s organizers said in a statement.
Frequently accompanying Mama Duck is her 10-foot-tall baby duck, Timmy. It’s unknown if Timmy will be joining his mother for the Hartville Jeep Fest.
Along with taking a selfie with Mama Duck, Ohioans and Jeep enthusiasts at Saturday’s fest can take part in raffles supporting local charities, indulge in a selection of food trucks and vendors, and watch a car crush at 1:30 p.m.
Those hoping to show off their Jeep can register into the fest’s awards for $10 for a chance to win best in show, best non-Wrangler, most muddiest, best modified and more. Registration begins at 9 a.m. followed by judging from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at 1 p.m.
Luckily for Mama Duck fans, she will be returning to Ohio later this summer for a three-day stint at Put-in-Bay. She’ll be stationed near the island Aug. 1 to 3, though it’s unclear if her appearance coincides with any events or festivals.
Mama’s other visits this summer include several stops across Minnesota, an amusement park in Pennsylvania, a motor speedway event in Delaware, and a festival in Maryland. As her organizers say, the world is her bathtub.
