Columbus woman sentenced to 8 years for stabbing death of husband

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A Columbus was sentenced to 8 years in prison Thursday after admitting to stabbing and killing her husband.

Octavia Gant pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter on April 3. She was initially charged with murder.


Gant was charged with stabbing and killing Michael Blair in December 2016 on the city’s east side.  

Police say Blair and Gant were in a heated argument when she stabbed him with a knife. 

After she is released, she will be on 5 years probation.
