COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A 13-year-old boy has died hours after a shooting in southeast Columbus, according to police.
Officers arrived at the 4000 block of Monmouth Court after getting a 4:12 p.m. report of shots fired. Police said the boy was in “extremely critical” condition and was taken to a nearby hospital.
At 1:50 a.m. Friday, Kamarion Woody was pronounced dead and the next of kin was notified.
A sergeant at the scene said they are treating the area as a crime scene, that a firearm from the shooting was found and that multiple people nearby were interviewed. Video surveillance from the area is also being reviewed.
Woody is one of two teenagers shot within hours of each each other. A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot on the southwest side of the city. Those shootings are not related.
