COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The seesaw movement of Columbus gas prices continues into Presidents’ Day week as the average is once again under $3 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy, the average per gallon price of gas in Columbus is $2.92, a 13-cent drop from the previous week. This $2.92 average is more than one quarter lower than a month ago and more than 42 cents lower than a year ago.

You can find gas in Columbus as cheap as $2.52 per gallon while the most expensive gas station is selling at $3.30 per gallon. Despite Columbus’ average getting a noticeable drop, the average price nationally and in Ohio only went down about two cents, to a $3.11 per gallon average price.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said to keep an eye on recent developments in Europe. “Oil prices remain subdued in the low $70s as President Trump works on a potential peace deal between Russia and Ukraine— an event that, if realized, could have significant implications for oil markets in the months ahead,” DeHaan said.
