COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – As the school year ends for many central Ohio students, the Columbus Metropolitan Library is making sure kids will stay fed this summer.

The library is teaming up with the Children’s Hunger Alliance to provide free meals to students all summer long, according to the library’s announcement. The organization is giving out meals at 17 locations to those 18 and younger.

“So many children in our community rely on free or discounted school lunches,” Public Services Director Miya Reyes said. “It is absolutely critical that students have access to healthy, nourishing meals over the summer. It not only benefits the body, but the mind.”

The meal service starts June 3 and runs until school begins in each district. Below is a list of times and places where students can pick-up meals.

Barnett Branch: 3227 E. Livingston Ave. (temporary location)

  • Breakfast: Monday-Saturday 12-12:30 p.m.
  • Lunch: Monday-Saturday 4-5 p.m.

Driving Park Branch: 1422 E. Livingston Ave.

  • Breakfast: Monday-Friday 12:15-12:45 p.m.
  • Dinner: Monday-Thursday 5:15-5:45 p.m., Friday and Saturday 4:15-4:45 p.m.

Franklinton Branch: 1061 W. Town St.

  • Lunch: Monday-Saturday 12:30-1:15 p.m.

Hilltop Branch: 511 S. Hague Ave.
