UPDATE: More schools in the Columbus City School District will switch to or remain in remote learning Tuesday due to staff absences.
In total, the following 11 schools will be in remote learning Tuesday:
- Berwick Alternative PreK-8
- Eastmoor Academy
- Fairmoor Elementary School
- Johnson Park Middle School
- Linden-McKinley STEM Academy 7-12
- Ridgeview Middle School
- Sherwood Middle School
- South High 7-12
- West Mound Elementary School
- Whetstone High School
- Yorktown Middle School
The district said staff and teachers for these 11 schools are expected to report on-site for their normal work schedule.
In addition, Valley Forge Elementary School will remain in remote learning Tuesday due to a partial heating outage at the building. Teachers whose classrooms are affected by the heating issue will work remotely while all other teachers and staff are due to report to the building per their normal schedule, the district said in a statement.
The remainder of the schools in the district will hold in-person classes.
Three schools will transition back to in-person learning Tuesday. They are:
- Burroughs Elementary School
- Duxberry Park Alternative Elementary School
- Marion-Franklin High School
The district said families who do not have Chromebooks can pick them up from the school between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Staff absences are forcing multiple Columbus City School District schools to switch to remote learning for Monday classes.
Those schools are:

- Duxberry Park Elementary
- Eastmoor Academy
- Johnson Park Middle
- Marion-Franklin High
- Ridgeview Middle

The district said staff for those buildings will be expected to report on-site for their normal work schedule.
Additionally, Valley Forge Elementary School will also be in remote learning Monday due to a partial heating outage at the building.
The message posted to the Columbus City Schools website said all other schools in the district will hold classes in person on Monday.
These Columbus schools join schools in the Reynoldsburg district in moving to remote learning for the first day of school for 2022.
