COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has identified two men killed by gunfire at a candlelight vigil in east Columbus for another shooting victim, but only released one of their names as of Thursday afternoon.

Lonnie Johnston, 29, was the victim the coroner’s office named from the Monday night shooting. Columbus police said he was pronounced dead minutes after the 9:54 p.m. incident, which happened at Krumm Park near the 800 block of Alton Avenue.

The coroner’s office did not release the name of the second victim as of Thursday afternoon, because it had only “tentatively identified” them. It added that once the second victim was positively identified, their name would be released as well.

Columbus Police Sgt. Joseph Albert said the candlelight vigil being held at the time of the shooting was for Da’Mya Cummerlander, who was shot and killed early Sunday on the 2600 block of Woodsedge Road. He noted at least 50 people, possibly more, were at the scene when officers arrived.

Columbus police have since arrested Kenneth Hariston, 20, in connection with Cummerlander’s death. While Deputy Chief Smith Weir said investigators have been reviewing footage from the vigil shooting, they have not named a suspect in that case.
