COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A partnership between the Columbus Metropolitan Library and ProMusica has allowed the former to offer concert tickets to its branch visitors.

The ProMusica Chamber Orchestra has joined a repertoire of performance groups, venues and museums in the library’s Culture Pass program. The passes allow anyone with a library card to get a one-time pass with limited free access to a respective institution or event. In 2023, the offerings also included summer showings of movies like “Citizen Kane,” “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “Psycho” at the Ohio Theatre.

ProMusica performs contemporary music featuring violin, oboe, flute and harpsichord. The group’s upcoming programs include “Neighborhood Series: Bach and Friends” on Feb. 24 and 25. Below are the additional organizations with offerings through the library’s Culture Pass program, and which branches will redeem them:

Since launching the program in 2018, the Columbus Metropolitan Library has required cardholders to redeem the passes in person at one of its branches. While anyone can check the availability of Culture Pass offerings on the CML website, they can’t reserve the tickets online like with books.

ProMusica’s performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Worthington United Methodist Church, and 4 p.m. Sunday at Saint Mary Catholic Church.
