COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Two people were injured after a shooting near Interstate 70 in southeast Columbus Sunday night.
Columbus police said the shooting happened near I-70 westbound at South James Road at approximately 9:29 p.m. Officers discovered two victims shot, one 18-years-old, the other 17. A third person, 18, was inside the vehicle, but not injured.
One victim was taken to Grant Medical Center, the other to an unspecified hospital. They are both listed in critical condition but expected to survive their injuries.
I-70 West was closed in the area of South James Road and South Hamilton Road, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. It reopened at 3:10 a.m.
