COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Columbus man was found guilty of multiple first degree felonies on Friday in connection to the 2021 murder of a local religious leader.

Isaiah Brown-Miller was found guilty of aggravated robbery and kidnapping in relation to the the murder of Mohamed Hassan Adam, according to a news release from the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office.

Brown-Miller and his accomplice, John Wooden, robbed and fatally shot Adam on Dec. 22, 2021, in a vacant lot in Columbus’ South Linden neighborhood, the news release said. Adam was reported missing that same day, and his body was found inside a van off Joyce and Windsor avenues two days later. Wooden was found guilty on Oct. 25 of aggravated murder, kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

Mohamed Adam was an imam at the Masjid Abu Hurairah mosque in Columbus, as well as a leader in the local Muslim and Somali communities.

A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled for Brown-Miller.
