COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A pedestrian was hospitalized Tuesday morning after being struck by a Hummer in east Columbus.

According to police at the scene, a man was walking at the intersection of East Mound Street and East 22nd Street in Olde Towne East and was struck by a vehicle at around 7 a.m. Officers said that a woman driving a red Hummer did not see the man and ran him over as he was crossing the street.

The victim was taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition, but with a serious head injury.

The vehicle remained parked in between police tape at the intersection as authorities continued to investigate the collision. It is not known if the woman was taken into custody.
