Central Ohio hospitals welcome first babies of 2024

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The first babies of the New Year in central Ohio all arrived within 70 minutes of each other.
The first baby of the year was born at midnight at OhioHealth’s Grant Medical Center to the Stiles family of Pickaway County.
The baby girl measured 19 inches long and weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces. The baby’s mother said the girl was about four weeks early and that everyone was “doing good.”
The girl has an older sibling.

A baby girl was born at 12:57 a.m. at OSU Wexner Medical Center. The child was the first of several born on New Year’s Day. The child weighs 7 pounds, 2 ounces and is 20 1/4 inches long.

Mount Carmel welcomed Govanni Cherfils at 1:09 a.m. on New Year’s Day, weighing in at six pounds and reaching 20 inches tall. Cherfils marks the health system’s first baby born in 2024.

The hospital said the parents and Cherfils are doing great.
