COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Documents show the City of Columbus is reviewing a plan to replace the dilapidated Spaghetti Warehouse building with a new development.

The Robert Weiler Company submitted a preliminary site plan to construct a 534-unit building as well as a 577-space parking garage in place of the old Spaghetti Warehouse property, which has an unsafe building order against it. The old building, located at 397 W. Broad St., suffered a partial roof collapse in 2022 that caused the restaurant to move out. In late 2023, Spaghetti Warehouse opened up for business in its new location.

Only a preliminary blueprint for the location has been provided and submitted to the City of Columbus. This stage of planning allows developers to understand the requirements necessary to proceed with the design, according to company founder Bob Weiler Sr.

Weiler said that the plan is for his company and Kelley Companies to enter into a partnership with the owners of Spaghetti Warehouse. But he said the project is too early in the planning stages to say much else.

Franklin County Auditor records showed as of Thursday, the old Spaghetti Warehouse building remained under the ownership of SPAG 397 LLC, which bought the property in 2018. Spaghetti Warehouse has been a staple in Columbus for years. An auction to sell memorabilia from the old building was held in November.
