COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One man is dead after a shooting outside an after-hours club early Sunday morning in east Columbus.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Beechwood Road and East Livingston Avenue in the Beechwood area at 5:21 a.m. on the report of a shooting, according to a police dispatcher.

Dante E. Gamble, 39, was found with a gunshot wound and was taken to Mount Carmel East in critical condition. The victim was pronounced dead at 6 a.m., according to a dispatcher.

According to police, Gamble was in the parking lot of the club getting ready to leave when shots were fired, hitting Gamble.

Some people at the club tried to help Gamble, while several others are seen leaving before police arrived, according to surveillance video.

No suspect information is available at this time.
