One dead following shooting at south Columbus mobile home park

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One person is dead after a reported shooting at a South Columbus mobile home park Saturday afternoon.

According to a Columbus police dispatcher, officers responded to the 3000 block of Kane Drive just off of South High Street at approximately 3:50 p.m. to investigate a reported shooting.


The victim was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, but pronounced dead at 4:26 p.m. On Monday, police identified the victim as 31-year-old Erik Alcauter-Huitron.

Police said the shooting is related to a dispute between the victim and a male suspect, who fled the scene after the shooting.
