COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Despite having a person of interest detained, a 2022 Northeast Side homicide remains unsolved.

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers and Columbus police continue to investigate the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Gavin Osborne, who died in the 1200 block of South Linden’s East 18th Avenue on Sept. 25, 2022. At 12:53 a.m., officers found Osborne suffering from a gunshot wound. He died shortly after.

Police said they had a person of interest and were investigating the incident as a possible self-defense shooting. The case was to be forwarded to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office for grand jury consideration. Sixteen months later, no charges have been filed.
