Rapper Childish Gambino announces global tour with a stop in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A rapper/actor will kick off a global musical tour beginning in August and it includes a stop in Columbus, Ohio.

Childish Gambino, otherwise known as Donald Glover Jr., will promote his newly released album, “Atavista”, with a United States and international tour that includes 33 stops across North America. The tour, dubbed “The New World Tour”, begins in Oklahoma City on August 11 and runs through the country until Oct. 3 in Chicago, before continuing overseas in Europe and Australia.


The tour includes a stop in Columbus on Aug. 15 at the Schottenstein Center as well as regional stops in Detroit (Aug. 17), Pittsburgh (Aug. 20) and the final U.S. date in Chicago.

Glover Jr.’s new album includes newly released singles, title track “Atavist” and “Human Sacrifice”. He also recently dropped the official music video for “Little Foot Big Foot” from the same album.

The “Community” and “Atlanta” star, who has also appeared in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and “Solo: A Star Wars Story” announced this spring that “Atavista” a reworking of the album “3.15.20” will be his last under his stage-name. He also announced he is working on a new film called “Bando Stone in the New World” and is working on a Disney+ series based on the Star Wars character Lando Calrissian.
