COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One person is dead after a reported stabbing in east Columbus Tuesday night.

According to Columbus police, the stabbing was reported at approximately 10:03 p.m. in the 3100 block of Allegheny Avenue, where police found the victim at the Townhomes at Bexley Creek.

Damon Riley, 35, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition; they were pronounced dead at 10:28 p.m.

Another man at the scene told police he stabbed Riley in self defense after being assaulted. That man has not yet been charged and is cooperating with detectives as the investigation continues.
