COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a shooting was reported just west of the Ohio State Fairgrounds Saturday night.
Columbus police said officers responded to a shooting in the 400 block of East 13th Avenue in the Indianola Terrace neighborhood at approximately 8:38 p.m.
Police found two male victims with multiple gunshot wounds – one near the location of the shooting, the other near the 400 block of East 14th Avenue. Both were taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.
One of the victims was pronounced dead at 1:55 a.m. Sunday. A police dispatcher said on Sunday that a possible suspect was detained at the scene.
In an update provided by CPD on Tuesday, the deceased victim has been identified as 54-year-old Jerry Harper Jr.
