Coshocton County man shot dead, with suspect arrested

COSHOCTON, Ohio (WCMH) – One man is dead, and another is in custody after a fatal shooting earlier this week in Coshocton County.

According to the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, emergency personnel responded to reports of a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the 42000 block of County Road 19 just after 9 p.m. Monday. Deputies arrived to discover a 36-year-old man with multiple wounds.


Despite lifesaving first aid measures, the man died at the scene shortly after medics arrived. Deputies arrested 18-year-old Kaylob Butcher of Killbuck, and he was arrested on murder charges.

Detectives from the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation Crime Scene Unit continue to process the shooting, which remains an open investigation.
