First, they were closed by the health department for not being – Up To Code.

Now, as a result of our investigation, the state agency that regulates daycare centers is stepping in.

On January 18, the Columbus Public Health Department ordered Westerville Childcare Center, 4085 Westerville Road, to close its doors. Inspectors discovered the building was infested with rodents.

NBC 4’s Tom Sussi learned the center’s owner is addressing the health department’s concerns – including the rodents – and may re-open any day.

Meanwhile, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services informed Sussi they are now investigating the daycare center, which received its license in 2016.
