FRANKLIN COUNTY, OH (WCMH) — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that closed Jackson Pike for several hours near the Franklin and Pickaway county line Tuesday morning.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, at about 1:15 a.m., deputies were called to S.R. 104 south of Hiner Road on the report of a crash.
Deputies say that a 2012 black Chevrolet Sonic, being driven by Olivia S. Wright, 22, of Circleville, was traveling southbound on S.R. 104, when her vehicle was struck head-on by a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado that went left of center while traveling northbound.
Wright was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Silverado, Benjamin M. Shuler, 25, of Grove City, was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital in critical condition.
Deputies continue to investigate but say neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
