LANCASTER, Ohio (WCMH) — Firefighters in Fairfield County put out a house fire early Tuesday morning that resulted in the deaths of two dogs.

Authorities were alerted to the fire at 1270 Quarry Road Southeast just after 3:45 a.m. in Berne Township and quickly contained the blaze, according to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.

Two dogs died in the fire and officials have accounted for all potential occupants of the residence. The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. Police and a drone team were at the scene as well for the investigation.
