COLUMBUS (WCMH) – This Friday is once again our Founder’s Day of Caring, NBC4 employees and employees of Nexstar stations across the country give back to our communities.
One organization that will benefit Friday is Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks.
Things are just getting started for the bird watchers at Highbanks Metro Park.
“Once school lets out, it goes all the way through the fall colors,” said Tim Moloney.
Maloney says with 19 parks and 27,000 acres of land across Central Ohio, the Metro Parks system has something for everyone.
The parks are supported and maintained through the help of voters, volunteers and visitors.
“The park district gets almost 11 million people coming to it every year,” said Maloney.
This Friday, NBC4 will help maintain those parks, cleaning them up for patrons.
That way, everyone can continue to enjoy using the parks.
