TUSCARAWAS TWP, Ohio (WCMH) — A Fresno woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning.
According to the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, a passerby spotted an overturned vehicle on State Route 621 just north of Memory Gardens. The passerby flagged down a deputy to report the crash.
When deputies arrived at the scene, the found a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder on its top. Investigators say the Pathfinder, driven by 32-year-old Karalee Powell, of Fresno, had been traveling north on S.R. 621 and drifted off the right side of the road coming out of a small curve. The vehicle continued off the road where it hit a cement culvert and overturned several times.
Powell was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead on the scene by the Coshocton County Corner’s office. Investigators say alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors to the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
