WHITEHALL, Ohio (WCMH) — The Franklin County Auditor is urging customers of a Brown Road gas station to check their banking and credit card statements after an employee was charged for using a hand-held skimmer to collect customers’ credit card information.

Authorities say a clerk at the Speedway at 715 Brown Road was charged after it was discovered they had been using the skimmer to steal the information since July 2024.

Officials say the skimmer was only used during in-store transactions and no skimming devices were found on the gas pumps.

Whitehall Police are working to identify any additional victims of this fraudulent activity. If your credit or bank card has been compromised, and you’ve recently visited this gas station, you are asked contact Detective Kubinski at 614-237-6333 ext. 1247.
