LOGAN, Ohio (WCMH) — Christmas came early for an Ohio lottery player in Logan, Ohio, when a Merry Money scratch-off revealed the $1 million top prize.
The winner, identified only as “Steve,” purchased the ticket at Tee Jay’s Drive Thru & Deli, located at 511 East Front St. in Logan. Steve took the cash option of $500,000 on the $20 scratch-off winnings, which means he will receive $360,000 after mandatory federal and state tax withholdings equalling 28%.
According to the Ohio Lottery, the holiday-themed card has a top prize of $40,000 for 25 years, three of these are remaining as of Oct. 21, 2024.
