Investigators have identified the Athens County man killed in a single-vehicle accident Saturday morning.

According to the Athens post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 9am Saturday on State Route 56. Investigators say Charlene Sharpe, 39, of Athens, was driving a Toyota Corolla west on SR-56 when she failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a

The right rear passenger, identified as Raymond Ogburn, 43, of New Marshfield, was pronounced dead on the scene. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Ogburn was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash.

The right front passenger, identified as Megan Morgan, 23, of Albany, was transported to O’Bleness Hospital in Athens. Sharpe was also transported to O’Bleness before being transferred to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Investigators say both Morgan and Sharpe were wearing safety belts.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
