WEST JEFFERSON, Ohio (WCMH) — I-70 West has reopened after a fatal crash closed the roadway Monday night in Madison County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 8:09 p.m., Monday, a 2018 GMC van driven by Brian Bogenrife, 37, of West Jefferson, was traveling westbound on I-70 when it struck the back of a commercial vehicle.
Bogenrife was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Troopers continue to investigate but say Bogenrife was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol is not considered a factor, according to the OSHP.
