Meet Max: He is a Brittany Spaniel-Beagle mix on a mission to find rescue dogs, like himself, a loving forever home.
NBC4 Today Weekend Anchor Hattie Hawks and her husband adopted Max from a small Central Ohio rescue called Pets Without Parents. Every week, Max and Hattie introduce viewers to other rescue dogs in search of forever homes.
This week, Hattie and Max stopped by a Peace for Paws foster home to meet Farva, an 8-year-old Chihuahua mix who is ready for his forever family.
“He loves to cuddle. He is very content to always be around his people,” said Farva’s foster mother Glenna Hurst. “He will be on my lap, watch TV, snuggle…”
Farva does well around cats and other dogs. He also loves to greet new people and go on new adventures.
“He loves to get dirty, it seems,” Hurst said. “He loves to go on hikes, so we have done a few hike walks.”
Despite his love for adventure, taking it easy is his true favorite. He loves to snuggle while watching movies on the couch.
“He is just like a little baby,” Hurst said. “I give him a bath, wrap him up in a towel, and he will fall asleep in my arms.”
Farva would do best with a family who has children older than five and is prepared to take care of him for years to come.
“He does have a heart murmur, and that’s the reason Peace for Paws rescued him,” Hurst said. “He will need to be on a heart medicine that’s going to cost about $40 and a healthy diet, but he doesn’t let it slow him down.”
