Max’s Mission: Terrier mix Terry, 10, available for adoption at Union County Humane Society

Meet Max: He is a Brittany Spaniel-Beagle mix on a mission to find rescue dogs, like himself, a loving forever home.

NBC4 Today Weekend Anchor Hattie Hawks and her husband adopted Max from a small Central Ohio rescue called Pets Without Parents. Every week, Max and Hattie introduce viewers to other rescue dogs in search of forever homes.

This week, Hattie and Max stopped by the Union County Humane Society to meet Terry, a 10-year-old Terrier mix.

“We’ve had Terry four about four weeks. [He’s been] completely vetted, checked out, microchip put in and Terry is doing great,” said Jim Alloway, executive director the Union County Humane Society. “He is a very friendly dog and will make a great lap dog for somebody but also likes to get some exercise when he gets the chance.”

Terry is a little on the heavier side, but his energy level is just right. He is great with other dogs and cats and would do best in a family with a moderate activity level.

“Probably not a family that likes to go hiking every weekend and take him for 10-mile walks,” Alloway said.

Terry is almost always down for whatever his humans feel like doing, even if it’s something he’s never done before.

“He’s got a good nervous system. He can go into different buildings and environments and handle it really well,” Alloway said. “Plus, he’s just out going and got a good-natured temperament.”

There is an application process in palce at the Union County Humane Society to make sure that Terry finds the right family. To learn more information about adopting Terry, visit their website.
