FRANKLIN CO., OH (WCMH) — Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther filed his petition for re-election on Monday morning at the Franklin County Board of Elections, ahead of a Wednesday deadline.
Supporters and members of his team met him in the parking lot about 10:30 a.m. before Ginther went inside to file his paperwork and get his name on the ballot for November.
The mayor said he had learned a lot during his first term as mayor. He said his goals for a second term would continue what he’s trying to do during his remaining time as mayor, initiatives that include affordable housing in the city and the nationwide search for a new chief of police.
Ginther said he is focused on continuing to make changes rather than on what he’s done in the past.
