BREAKING UPDATE: At 4:29 a.m., the New Albany Police Department announced that a second victim has died from Tuesday’s mass shooting at KCD/One warehouse. Police said the conditions of the four remaining hospitalized victims are still unknown at this time, but the total deaths related to the shooting is now at two.
NEW ALBANY, Ohio (WCMH) — A shooting at a New Albany warehouse Tuesday night sparked a large search Wednesday from law enforcement agencies across central Ohio.
Authorities said 28-year-old Bruce Reginald Foster III allegedly shot six people, resulting in one death, at the KDC/One building on Smith’s Mill Road. Roughly 12 hours later, Foster was arrested in a Columbus neighborhood not far from Ohio State’s campus and charged with aggravated murder.
New Albany officials provided additional details Wednesday afternoon in a news conference, detailing the efforts in the investigation and revealing new information on Foster.
Here is a timeline of events from Tuesday night’s mass shooting to Foster’s arrest.
10:20 p.m. Tuesday: 911 calls made regarding shooting
Dozens of 911 calls were received from the KDC/One on Smith’s Mill Road, in New Albany’s industrial area. Callers said they heard gunshots, with one saying he had been shot in the neck. Police arrived and found six people had been shot.
One was found dead inside, and the other five were taken to hospitals. Around 150 people were in the building at the time, and due to its size, many did not know the shooting had happened.

2 a.m. Wednesday: Police said shooting was “targeted”
In the first update from authorities, New Albany police Chief Greg Jones said the shooting appeared to be a targeted attack. Jones could not confirm a motive but said there were no reports of a confrontation before the shooting and said a weapon was left behind.

4 a.m.: Police discover address with possible connection
New Albany police obtained an address with a possible connection to Foster in Columbus’ Walnut Creek neighborhood. A Columbus police SWAT unit went there with a search warrant and made contact with multiple occupants.
No residents or vehicles were found in connection with the shooting.
5:30 a.m.: Foster identified as suspect
Police identified Foster, an employee at the KDC/One facility, as the suspect. In a 7:30 a.m. news briefing, Jones said Foster was inside the building for several hours before the shooting and that security footage showed him entering and leaving.
Foster used a ride share to arrive and leave the facility, per Jones, who added that the driver had no connection to Foster. ATF special agent Daryl McCormick said he purchased the firearm used in the shooting in September.

10 a.m.: Foster arrested in Columbus
Nearly 12 hours after the first 911 call was received, central Ohio law enforcement found and arrested Foster at an apartment complex in Weinland Park, a neighborhood in Columbus just south of the Ohio State campus. Between 12-16 officers surrounded the building and US Marshals chief deputy Dan Deville said Foster resisted arrest.
Police said a taser was used to restrain him and that this complex he was found in is a place he frequents. Foster is charged with aggravated murder and felonious assault out of Licking County, and a bond recommendation of $20 million is listed in a court document. New Albany straddles Franklin and Licking counties, with the warehouse in the eastern part of the village, which falls in Licking County.

3:30 p.m.: Suspect taken to jail in Licking County
Foster was brought to the Licking County Justice Center, according to the Licking County Sheriff’s Office. He was processed by the New Albany police department before being taken to the jail by the sheriff’s office.
A court date for Foster has not been officially set.

4:29 a.m. Thursday: New Albany police report second victim dead
Thursday morning police said the conditions of the four remaining hospitalized victims are still unknown at this time, but the total deaths related to Tuesday’s mass shooting is now at two. Police have not released the identity of either victims.
