Ohio State graduates largest class in history

Nearly 12,000 Buckeyes received their degrees at OSU’s spring commencement on Saturday. 

The 2018 graduating class broke last year’s record for the largest spring graduating class in OSU history. Out of the 11,907 students who received their degrees, nearly one in five are the first in their families to graduate from college.


OSU President Michael V. Drake presided over the ceremony and the commencement address was given by Dr. Susan Desmond-Hellman, CEO of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Student speakers included Elizabeth H. Beatty, of Nashport, and Shweta Ambwani, of Dublin.
